In preparation
AMS Certification is a qualification for people who offer SEO and AEO services. It will be earned through AMS courses and an assessment, and it is only awarded to those who sign our code of ethics.
Why certify
Everyone offers SEO and AEO now, including people who do not have the basics. For a client, it is hard to tell the difference before the money is spent.
Being Certified AMS shows your clients that you are trained in the framework and up to date with the latest changes in search, and in what sites need from them.
Our principles
We believe in work done well, and that the standing of a site should rest on the quality and usefulness of its content. We oppose black hat tactics, which look for shortcuts around quality instead of building it.
The code of ethics
Certification is not only a matter of knowledge. To be certified you must sign and keep our code of ethics:
- Quality first. You do work of real quality for every client.
- Authority is earned. You build a site’s standing on the quality and usefulness of its content.
- No black hat. You do not use tactics that try to get around quality instead of delivering it.
How it will work
- Take the AMS course.
- Pass the assessment.
- Sign the code of ethics.
- Receive the title Certified AMS, with a badge for your site that links to your certification.
What it will cover
Reading a site and naming what is wrong with it. Deciding what to repair before anything is built. Designing an architecture that holds up as it grows. Knowing which phase a domain is actually in, rather than which phase its Domain Rating suggests. And keeping up with the changes in search, including AI search.
When
No date yet. It follows the books rather than leading them, because certifying against a framework that is still being written would be dishonest.
The waiting list
The list below is only for the certification. Joining it means you hear when dates, format and price are set, and that places are offered to this list first. It is separate from The Authority Brief, so being on one does not put you on the other.
If what you want is the framework itself rather than the certification, The Authority Brief is the one to read.
